Money-saving Sky

There is a wealth of good-value broadband deals out there, each one with its own distinct advantages and disadvantages. ISPs are all trying to get the edge over their competitors, with special offers, extras, perks – anything above and beyond the basic service which they can use to entice new custom. When shopping around for a company to provide your internet, it’s vital that you don’t lose sight of your principal objective: obtaining reliable, high-speed internet. So be thorough.

One pet hate common among the general public is waiting on the phone while you’re kept in a customer service queue. Even once you get through, half the time they tell you to call another time, or else they give you advice that is far from sound. Getting the brush-off from a company you are paying for a service is pretty galling. Thankfully, the internet market has a notable exception in this regard, in the form of Sky. Not only is their customer service renowned in the industry, but the broadband service itself is one of the best, and best-value out there. Sky have three main broadband packages, with download speeds of 20 Mbps across every one. Let’s look at them individually.

For existing customers, the ‘Everyday Lite’ deal adds broadband to your existing television/phone package. Its 2GB monthly download allowance makes the ‘Everyday Lite’ offer ideal for light users (people who primarily use the web for low-bandwidth activities such as shopping and email).

For the more ardent internet user, there’s the Sky Unlimited option. If you download large files – such as music or films – you can get Unlimited (meaning no ‘fair usage’ restrictions) broadband for just £15 a month. Best of all, you don’t even need to be a Sky TV customer, as you can sign up for Sky Unlimited as an internet-only deal.

To save even more money, you can ‘bundle’ phone calls into the Sky Unlimited pack, allowing you to enjoy the same unrestricted internet access, but still avoid paying for TV that you won’t watch, and getting cheap phone calls into the bargain.

If you like the sound of any of these packages, you should check out Sky.com, where you will find more info on UK broadband.
